An ultra-fast urease test for gastric biopsies
As part of upper endoscopy or gastroscopy procedures, urease tests are routinely used to identify the presence of H. pylori in gastric biopsies. The UFT300 Helicobacter pylori quick test is a rapid urease test that has transformed the diagnostic process and reporting of H. pylori infection in endoscopy settings. Unlike other urease tests, the UFT300 H. pylori quick test takes just 5 minutes, delivering reliable results that can be entered directly into your endoscopy reporting system and discussed with patients before they’ve even left the endoscopy theatre.
A Simple and Efficient Test process
To perform the test, a biopsy sample is placed in the designated test plate. A single drop of the UFT300 reagent is added, the plate is sealed and gently swirled horizontally, and the results are read after 5 minutes. A positive result is indicated by a magenta colour, while a negative result is represented by yellow.
This streamlined, simple process eliminates unnecessary administrative tasks, eliminates paperwork, and allows staff to reclaim valuable time.
Accuracy you can rely on
The test exhibits an impressive accuracy rate of 97.5%, with a sensitivity of 94.5% and a specificity of 100% when compared to histology and the C13 urea breath test (UBT) as gold standards. Furthermore, the UFT300 offers the convenience of room temperature storage within the endoscopy unit, further simplifying its usage.
