Quantitative self-testing of calprotectin for IBD monitoring

Preventis QuantOn Cal is a test system for the quantitative determination of calprotectin in stool samples. This in vitro diagnostic device (IVD) is intended for self-testing and individual monitoring of treatment efficacy for patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). QuantOn Cal consists of a rapid test that detects human calprotectin via gold-conjugated anti-calprotectin antibodies, and a smartphone app that analyses the result quantitatively based on the colour intensity of the control and test lines. Results are automatically sent to the patient’s doctor and logged in the Doctor’s Online Portal.

How QuantOn Cal works

  1. Access the online portal and register as a Competence Centre

IBD teams can set up their own Competence Centre within the portal free of charge, which forms the central point for user and patient management, data collection and viewing results.

  1. Register patients

Patients are enrolled by connecting them to your Competence Centre via the QuantOn Cal app. This is easily done by entering the unique patient identification number (PID) or barcode into the portal, and generating an enrolment form.

  1. Monitor your patients

Once a patient is enrolled in the QuantOn Cal programme, every result they generate will automatically be dispatched from their smartphone to your Competence Centre. The results are sent immediately by email to your registered address, or you can view the current and previous test results in the portal as a list or graph.
